we, europeans have dominated the world for more than a millennia ... you have for less than a century... rookie number
And our friends in all of Europe fell behind us after we were just over 150 years old. And considering Europe has existed and grown over the entire course of human development, I would say that makes us look even more impressive. Then add to that, we did it with an extremely similar mix of race and religions.

A brand new Republic, fiercely dedicated to Democracy, and with just the right mix of sink or swim Capitalism.
Honestly brother, when I enter all of those figures into a calculator the answer always comes up the USA.

Just imagine being in 2023 and still denying climate changes when NYC was choking under the smoke coming from forests burning in Canada...

and this bring us close to maybe our extinction...

bringing individual countries or continents in this debate was bad and I was stupid to answer about that... the problem here doesn't concern only some countries but Humankind as a race... what is happening know no borders or egos, yours or mine. We're really a stupid race when we move a finger from an objective, we demonstrated it right now

When you are eating mill worms for your protein because some very rich guys tell you its better for the planet than chicken and beef, you'll get it.. And trust me, they'll still be eating chicken and beef
I don't care if it's well cooked. I'm french so if I believe the stereotypes, I'm already eating worse things...

srsly I know I'll don't even make you think a sec about that "Maybe all these heatwaves aren't normal?" "Maybe all those dangerous gas we drop in the atmosphere and the sh!t we drop in the oceans are not good for us ?" ... you're totally into conspiracy theories of flat earth's lvl ... and I don't want to waste my time... and at the end, time will tell who, between you or me, was right.

Good grief! They've been complaining about this for 60 years!
Is the data incorrect ? Do you have other findings of your own ?

Great country, built on slave labor and land appropriation.
Fell behind how ? We at least have working healthcare system. Last 12 months I had a tumor removal surgery, a few dozen of proton theraphy sessions, 8 months of PCV complimentary chemo, all in a city 100 miles away. All paid with my taxes, including accomodation in a hostel for all the complimentary treatments. If I had to rely on private insurance, I'd get next to nothing as they would probably dismiss it as genetic I was told by insurance rep. And I was still paid 80% of my salary the entire year.

And with that, I agree with almost everything you just said. (I don't think you were stupid for how you made your points).

Ooohhh, noooo, human is doomeed! Stop procreating!

Wait, ice age, holocene, 10,000 years ago? Earth is 4+ billion years old. Homo sapiens have been on earth for 100,000+ years.

And the climate has been changing through cycles, regardless, of with or without human. Blah, blah, blah.

Seriously? A European is going to ***** and moan about our sins of slavery and taking land from its rightful owners? That's rich
We at least have working healthcare system.
We have the best healthcare available in the world by far and bar none.
At least you could have tried to be sincere and talk about what it costs.
Then you would have had a valid point. But you dont on this.

Well damn. I hope you are out of danger now.
For me, those services would have been in Little Rock, 12 miles away.
All paid with my taxes
Yes sir. We have seen your tax rates. We are not impressed. Not your fault, but we all pay in one way or another.
If I had to rely on private insurance, I'd get next to nothing as they would probably dismiss it as genetic I was told by insurance rep.
Maybe there. But denial makes the news here and is much less a problem that you may see or hear.
And I was still paid 80% of my salary the entire year.
I have worked all through Europe, and I know for a fact that anything over £125,000 ($150,000) is taxed at close to 50%. In fact, even earnings as low as £50,000 ($60,000) is taxed at 40%. Its 20% here.

But the worst of all, you all add an u to color and favorite! :p

I'm not a climate change denier, but there is this trend to use it politically to impose more taxes and restrictions to the common person. The problem is not cows farting too much or me being able to heat my home in winter, but what actually drives the global economy, huge industrial complexes that can never be shut down. So, then, we can't stop that, what can we do? Let's fxck the little guy, blame him for having a decent life and make him pay. And then you wonder why people are so riled up and deny it altogether. Because you won't see Apple or any other big corporation changing its business to lose money or any rich guy giving up his privileges, but I'm lectured to give up "bad habits" and live in the stone age for "the planet".

What have you been smoking, Sims? You don't know of any kind of civilisation other than the human kind. It is just civilisations. Not human civilisations. Human physiology has barely changed over the past 10,000 years, yet the world has almost 8 billion people on it, spread over more landmass than ever before. Various member of our specie have acclimatised to a wide range of environmental conditions, but most prefer warm weather. If you think had the environmental conditions of today existed 6000 years ago that emerging civilisations would have been less likely, then I'd expect you to be no more in the know than the silly monkey who sits in the middle of the road blocking city traffic or glues his hands to a Van Gogh.

The article doesn't suggest that as a solution.

Climate science doesn't deny that there are natural trends and cycles, in fact, it wholly agrees with it. What it also indicates is that since the Industrial Revolution, humans are now a considerable cause for the changes that are happening today. Any denial of that shows that the fossil fuel lobbyists have done their job.

What is particularly frightening from a political viewpoint is the steady infiltration of said fossil fuel lobbying into agendas such as the COP agreements. The very fact the next COP, hosted in the UAE, is being led by CEO of the Abu Dhabi Oil Company speaks volumes to me. Anyone who thinks their involvement is to improve their 'green' credentials has truly had the wool pulled over their eyes.

The steady infiltration into the political viewpoint will be by all the voters of mediocre incomes who are paying an ever increasing price for energy, in part due to inflation, but also environmental policies. Environmental polices that limit the extraction and use of fossil fuels makes people poorer. Much of the world has yet to benefit from the cheap, reliable, transportable, high concentrated form of energy that brainwashed morons out to "save the planet" have benefited from their entire lives and are STILL benefiting from. And China is building ever more coal fired power stations. At least the CCP got one thing right in its otherwise atrocious existence.

A Polish person, yes. What is wrong with that exactly ?

We have the best healthcare available in the world by far and bar none
and yet people are in the worst shape, can't afford medication, or basic services.every private company tries to rip you off. here, medication is refunded a lot of the times, hence prices for serious medication (not supplements) are government regulated.

Europe is separate countries with separate governments, you know...... or maybe you don't.
I pay 12% since I'm under 120.000pln, which is more than plenty to get by where I live. And up to 30.000 is tax free, so they only tax me for anything I make that's above 30.000
You pay 20%, but really, what do you get in return ?

Well, duh, obviously. The reason I put that sentence in maniacal hysterical form is because this whole thing IS now maniacal hysterical. With some truth because as far as I can see, those who are hysterical about this planet future are those who either explicitly say they won't procreate, or behaviourally showing the lack of such drive.

Nice accusation. What IF I accuse those who push this agenda as hard as they could as the candlebearer to big tech, big media, big government? Or possibly CCP agent since China is the ultimate beneficiary of all "green tech" products and supply chains? Everyone can play this easy lazy game.

Frightening? Exactly, they knew the developed world dwellers are enjoying so much privilege that they have plenty of time to get so anxious and freaking out on things while the 3rd world people are busy working hard to raise their livelihood to better level instead.

Neuroticism is rampant in the west. They knew it. You get frightened by it. You become hysterical because of it. As I said above even when you may not have "investment" to the future in form of reproduction at all. Which is an oxymoron position.

I wonder if the climate crazies have ever heard of the boy who cried wolf?
And where does that term appear in the article? I think the article is clear in stating what the conditions are and what is causing those conditions.

That's what happens when real concerns are brought to the forefront and everyone keeps doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results regardless of the concerns.
When your *real concerns* keep failing to materialize that tends to happen. Why wasnt florida under water 20 years ago again? Per the *experts* it would be underwater by 2000 if we didnt halve our CO2 output immediately, then when that didnt happen they changed it to 2020. Global CO2 output has doubled since then, not halved, mostly thanks to china and india, yet florida is still there. Really makes you think.

Anytime you choose politics over science you're bound to lose. It's just unfortunate the founding fathers could not have imagined the kind of political atmosphere we are now in and adjusted accordingly.

personnally I stoped to try to educate those yanks that european social democracy is not communism... they're totally brainwashed like north korean level ... oh the irony...

capitalism is as sh!tty as communism in the end... communism corrupt ppl at the top ... capitalism corrupt everyone ... we need a new way...
I think it's the other way around, Communism corrups on every level of the society and Capitalism mostly at the top, at least from my experience.

And you have every right to hate facts of the past, but you have no right to point the finger, knowing you are still a member of the modern group of people that did those things to your country. I go through the same thing as a half Native American man myself.
I am Navajo, yet I'm also a proud, card-carrying member of the US of A, and I'm fully aware of, and accept the fact that my country has had many advances made on the backs of others.

and yet people are in the worst shape, can't afford medication, or basic services.every private company tries to rip you off.
Right, right and right. As I said, what we are perfectly capable of doing doesn't mean we do it for everyone. Yet.
And in truth, if we could cut out the anchor known as the deep south, we would be in a much better position.

Europe is separate countries with separate governments, you know...... or maybe you don't.
I do, but I don't have first-hand knowledge of most other European nations, but I do with the UK.
You pay 20%, but really, what do you get in return ?
I'm in a different bracket, but overall the same things you do, just better! ;)
Except healthcare coverage!

And how is this climate-first article loosely related to tech this time? Is it the diagram? The term holocene?
OMG! Another one cannot understand the connection between climate conditions and humanity's development of technology. Candidate for Dunning-Kruger.
...Did you look at the article? "Novel entities" is clearly there above and not explained in this article lol
And another OMG moment ripe with the inability to understand the main driver in the article. In case you cannot figure that out properly, its humanity and humanity's "advancement."

Why is Bill Gates making mystery meat and buying up farmland? Why is it the politicians want us living in cities where we can only go 15 minutes from our government issued sleeping quarters? Why do the people the preach this stuff the most, buy properties where they claimed it would be in the ocean by now. Keep drinking the koolaid.
Conspiracy theory time! 🤣

While you are thinking, many of the predicted events are happening. But feel free to continue to do the same things over and over and expect different results.

As I said above, others are starting to pay attention. Try to keep up.
