Elon Musk could bring back Vine, will make users pay for Twitter verification

I just hate the platform. He's welcome to his opinions, of course, but I don't see you asking him the same question.

And by the way, I think you, and anyone who thinks that Musk will be removing censorship, interesting - https://www.reuters.com/technology/...ssure-content-policing-compliance-2022-10-31/

I never said he was removing censorship. In fact I said the same rules for hate speech, racism, etc. will be in place (in a previous thread). You just won't be able to delete posts/ban people with conservative or right side opinions like before Elon bought it.

I actually agree the platform is a crap show of hate and misinformation for the most part. Whether he changes the platform or up's prices I think we agree the faster it burns down the better. Same goes for most Social platforms.

Given these rumors of massive price hikes, I'd say Musk is back to doing what he does best, taking money out of other people's pockets, and putting it in his.

I mean, he (ostensibly), got screwed on a deal that he couldn't back out of, so why shouldn't users be made to pay for it?

That's what it looks like to me as well. It seems like he wants Twitter to be less reliant on advertisement incomes and is now looking to boost income with a (supposedly) massive price increase. These kind of changes to boost income rarely end up hurting the company in the long run. We'll have to see how it turns out.

Maybe Musk's BS will backfire on him. There's lots of jobs out there that these people could find on their own - if they want to.

I think it would be hilarious if they all quit. No one likes working for a slave master.
Slave master?

Hyperbole much?

Actually, the correct political term for that is, "centrist". However, given all that I've seen of the Musk circus over ther years, he's just drumming up as much attention for himself as possible. IMO, what he's really trying is to turn Twitter into a sort of verbal "blood sport", strictly for his own amusement.

Take Trump for example, (you know that piece of sh!t, who "lives in my mind" as you claim), He created, "the big lie", that the election was stolen, took over 60 court cases to trial, lost all of them, couldn't prove a single allegation, yet you apparently think he should be back up and running his lying yap on Twitter? Seriously?

He is still front and center in your mind I see. I seriously think you need help at this point. Let's stay on topic.

Actually, I did work for someone who I thought was akin to a slave master and liked to do a song and dance for his managers in order to avoid telling them what was really happening. I found a job elsewhere, and have never worked for someone even remotely like him since then

As to your second question, perhaps you should be asking that of yourself?

So someone who "tells it like it is needs help?" Seriously, @captaincranky has a fine tuned BS detector - not that anyone who sees through Musk's BS needs one.

Perhaps you should take a look at a few of these https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Debunking+elon+musk

LOL...time to move on and focus on the current piece of sh!t president and cabinet. Or is that BS as well. Can't have it both ways like the left wants. Four years of prosperity, no wars, record 401k profits, great economy, and stable consumer prices plus cheap gas. You know those unimportant things Capincrank doesn't think are important for living and retirement. And now we have the current wreck of a government. But, oh boy Trump said mean things on Twitter before to hurt your feelings. The points you both are making are really sad . And I was talking about his Trump fetish not Elon. Try and keep up.

I hear that all the time. Do you people really believe that someone running for President in 2024 should not be in the minds of voters?
Because if so, that is the dumbest damn thing I have heard in a long time.

It wasn't the mean things. It was the incredibly stupid things. The out-and-out lies, and his love for dictators. All this is very old news.

"Try and keep up."

It's nice to see you're still hanging on my every word. I hope you're giving me room with a view, so to speak.

Actually, I'm dead on topic, the biggest, loudest, most persistent mumbling that's been going on since Musk announced this acquisition is, "OMG will he let Trump back on in the name of free speech".

After all, 80 million voters, tens of thousands of election officialss, 60 courts and judges presiding over failed lawsuits, can't possibly believe the election wasn't stolen,. only our boy Donny is telling the truth. The whole rest of the country is lying. Of course, you've made it clear you're a "plus one", on the side of the, "it was stolen" team.

Anyway, here's a Late Night take on what "freedom of speech" sounds like, in court. It seems Marjorie Taylor Greene has had an abundance of it. It's just that she can't seem to remember it under oath.

Musk himself has already stepped in it, in a tweet and link to a far right wing conspiracy website that claimed, "the man that invaded the Pelosi home was really invited in, and was a male prostitute".

Of course he pulled it down quickly. But, we know the internet don't we? Once something's out there, it's almost impossible, if not impossible, to get rid of it.

@AlaskaGuy So, should I take this to mean that all your posts in the future will consist of "retweets"?

I've avoided the platform so far,and will continue to do so.

However it would seem you've signed me up directly, without offering any original thought involved on your part.

Truth and history should not be censored
It's been said that, "history is written by the victors".

As for truth, nowadays, it would seem it belongs in the hearts of those who believe the biggest lies.

I hold an adjacent belief that, "stupid people are incapable of evaluating their own intellectual capacity".

What do you think constitutes, "truth"? That which is, or that which one chooses to believe?

I used that tweet along with the election denying vid to show you as a hypocrite.

hmmm "slave master" huh?
What makes you call him that? Is it that he wants everyone working 40 hours a week or that they have to come to the office or something else?
I mean I don't like slave masters either but I have a feeling that your version and mine are two different things.

Yes I have many years of experience. Not in the manner you imply but I have seen where modern culture has slid to and I don't like it.
Unfortunately the younger generations are a lot more entitled and lazy. Generally speaking they are living off of the backs of past generations who worked hard to give them the good life. Now everything is expected and they have learned nothing. IMO it's at least in part the fault of the past generation parents. Character comes with struggle usually and when you have everything given to you, you lack character.

Agreed. I don't know if Twitter's board was any good or not, but firing CEO, CFO, etc. on day one? Comes off bad to me. Telling developers "get this major feature done in a week or your fired?" What an *******.

Just to add, this just reinforces my wanting to NEVER get into or even be around a Tesla (unfortunately, I've seen several on the roads around here...) I've read a few times about him putting pressures on the Tesla developers to rush out features on them.

Twitter's CEO was pure trash as was the board.
