hi, all. looking for a bit of info on taking the guts of my emachine 3240 and putting it into a new casing with more dvd bays, does the motherboard have to have a specific as to whether it can be rehoused.
looking to stick the guts into a ATX Case with 450 Watt PSU, any input would be cherished, cheers

The eMachines isn't very rugged. it will fit a lot of cases, as it is sized to the 478 standard. It has some real reliability issues when you up the number of devices that are going to draw power.
But for just a few dollars more, you can get a motherboard combo with CPU that will fit into a much larger case. You will likely be happier in the long run. When you shop for cases, also shop or search for Combo deals of motherboard and CPU.
