Epson scan software fails to start

ive recently started havin problems with my epson scan program. when i select it from the start menu it says "epson scan cannot be started" ive googled the problem and havent found a fix yet, anyone any ideas ?

Ps ive tried deletin the C:\WINDOWS\twain_32\escndv\es0057 files to no avail

Remove your scanning software and everything to do with your Epson device from Add\Remove Programs, then download your updated drivers and scanning program from here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp?

after quite a few installs an messin about i uninstalled it all rebooted an ran a few optimize programs, then reinstalled with the new drivers/software from site an then had to goto deveice manager to install the scanner driver from my OEM disc. an finally it works.

according to epson this problem has never occurred, google says otherwise lol
