Epson TM-U200 printer

I purchased an exact same model TM-U220 printer to replace my current printer that is now acting up. I made sure that the DIP switch has the same setting for both and tried to plug in the new printer. My computer (running XP window) does not recognize the new printer. But once I put the old printer back, my computer recognizes it at once. Is there any trick to this? And how I will make the new printer work? Any idea? Thanks in advance for any help

Do you have an operating manual for the replacement printer? Any firmware differences can cause this...
