Ethernet network between laptop and pc?

  1. Ok I want to connect my laptop with my Computer using a crosswire cable, and I am kind of clueless, my pc Is running Windows xp sp3 and my laptop has Windows vista Ultimate 64-bit, I want to able to share documents and an internet connection and for my pc to be the host.

    OK, now what do I do?

    Connect the cross-over cable
    Run Netsetup

    Windows vista dose not show my network card in the laptop, and running netsetup in vista dose not work....

    I know but did Xp netsetup help?

    Regarding not showing rour network card. Is it enabled?
    You can search (or run) Devmgmt.msc to confirm
    Are all the drivers installed (you may need to go to your manufacturer's support page)
