Everything is loading very slow

everything on my pc is loading up very very slow. I have windows xp, I have norton antivirus. I downloaded webroot antispyware with spy sweeper because I heard about it in another forum. I ran it and it showed some harmful cookies so i deleted them. My pc is still very slow....please help. I'm running version 2002, service pack 3, intel pentium 3 processor, 930 MHz, 512 MB of RAM

Your PC is very old, you shouldn't expect any smooth performance
Adding more RAM and a better CPU would increase performance by a small factor

I am very certain that he can't 'find and fit' a better CPU in that rig.
