Exclude or include game data files in virus scans

if i include the game data files the virus scan can take up to 16 hours to complete, i have about 20 games on my pc and if i exclude the game data files the virus scan only takes about 5 hours

Just do Windows folder, for the moment

i dont have a virus on my computer right now i was just doing my weekly virus scan and it was taking to long. so the i stopped the scan and excluded all my games data files and i was wanting to now if this is recommended

That's difficult to answer

It is recommended to do a full scan, once in a while
But if you open those Games, and if they have viruses on them, then your Antivirus will pick them up.

Also, because my system is huge ( + stacks of games I never use anymore)
I do run a full scan (overnight) every so often. But it's a heavy load on CPU and memmory I noticed.
