Now what?

Super - - you have PROVED that your TCP settings (specifically the DNS) are ok and you can resolve a
URL into the proper IP address. This then implicates the browser itself.

Which browser are you using?
Did you try any others?

Try disabling all of the Add-ons {very specific to each browser}
  • Firefox:- Tools->Add-ons->disable each and every
  • Opera:- Tools->Advanced-->Plugins
  • Chrome:- icon far right of URL -> Tools-->Extensions
  • IE:- gear icon right of URL -> Manage Addons
    • select the addon ; then click DISABLE lower right just above CLOSE

I use Chrome and IE. Both fail to load Facebook. The only add-on I had was Norton Identity Protection. I turned it off and it still won't work.

There is another symptom of malaise. In certain listings, like google news, when I click on a story, it opens and freezes - won't scroll. I have to copy the url to another tab in order to read it.

This is embarassing. I just discovered that I had inadvertently listed FB as a blocked site on my desktop when I had meant to list it as an allowed site. Also the freeaing problem was solved by resetting explorer. Sorry to divert your attention from more interesting things...

hi sir. the facebook IP is not returning that to me. it's giving me
2a03:2880:f102:83:face:b00c:0:25de
31.13.95.36 instead
That's because you'r not located in Southern Calif :grin:

That's good data for you.
