Fake webpage history?

Hi,
I got a whole load of spyware and viruses on my computer the other day- thought I had cleared them all.

I went onto google the other night, to do a bit of searching- when I typed in some letters some words came up for me to select. Though they were things that I don’t remember ever typing. I clicked on the words and did a search just to see what things they were.

They turned out to be naughtyish words, and brought up a google search page that had things clicked on it as some had the purple colour rather than the blue colour.

I then looked at the history and there were some porn webpages that had been looked at over the past week- the same ones that had come up in the google search and were highlighted as being clicked on.

I asked my boyfriend if he had been on the porn sites, and he said that he hadnd’t and that a virus can make a fake history in your webpage.

Is this true?
Or is he a bit of a liar?!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Viruses can do all kinds of strange things, so don`t be to quick to accuse your boyfriend lol.

Let`s see what nasties if any you have on your system.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Regards Howard
