A reader from nVNews website was able to videotape some Far Cry gameplay on NVIDIA's E3 booth, the game was using upcoming Pixel Shaders 3.0 patch running on a GeForce 6800.

Although it's not been cleared up what will be the actual visual difference of PS 3.0 on Far Cry (one of the few shipping games to take advantage of PS 3.0), from the video you can notice some realistic look of stones and terrain, couldn't say anything else for the rest of the graphics because of the quality of the film but an eye opener for sure, go and take a look yourself.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isen't PS3.0 just faster, more efficient than PS2.0

I believe it's vertex shaders 3.0 that they are showing.

doesnt look that impressive to me, perhaps because the shader on those rocks just doesnt work right, bump mapping only works so far, and the amount of bump that a beach of shingle has, has to be modelled, bump maping just doesnt work, apart from that it doesnt look all that impressive, i must admit, thats another reason im getting an RX800XT and not a GeForce 6. (oh and the fact nVidia have again cheated with their drivers to make Far Cry run better)
