Fastdetect switch in boot.ini

  1. I need to remove the fastdetect switch in my boot.ini:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=5
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer

    But what do I do about /usepmtimer? Can I remove that also?

    This is the reason. It is the SAME problem I am currently having:

    I don't want to screw anything up. This is the first time I have done this.
