Faster download speed with wireless than ethernet?

  1. That confuses me. I did the speedtest and I got 2307 kbps with ethernet and I got
5191 kbps download speed with wireless. Why is that? shouldn't being directly connected make your connection faster?

Did you try it more than once? Speed tests can be somewhat unreliable and its best to run it a few times on each setup to make sure you get accurate results.

If the speed tests continue to show this problem, it is also possible that you have a less than perfectly crimped Ethernet cable. I have seen poorly crimped network cables work but offer reduced transmission speeds. Just try another patch cable to rule this out as an issue.
