Well...I wouldn't say they suck.
When it works, it's a very good card. It's better than the 5800 in my opinion. It's a lot quieter and cooler than both the 5800, 5900 and 5950. It's a lot cheaper too.
And if it breaks, you can get it replaced, for free. I dont really see a downside to be honest. Mine lasted for one and a half years.
On a amd athlon 1.2 ghz, 384 mb sdram, I can get 4750 points in 3D Mark. I can run Warcraft III at 1600 6x AA, max everything, smoothly. Show me a 5800 do that. :p
Plus the 9700 PRO has better image qulaity in 3d games than any nvidia card. look on www.tomshardware.com for proof.

I'm gonna get it replaced, and get another one for free (ofc). As long as they do it sometime this year, I won't mind too much. Otherwise, it's a great card, and my best buy.

ATI Ownz* :grinthumb

* - As long as they replace my bloody card. ;)

Wow - never seen anyone say the 9700 Pro sucks. I'd have to disagree with that statement vehemently.

lol yeh I know. The 9800pro isn't much different form the 9700pro (unless you hav the 256mb one which I dont (unfortunately!)) I've just had 9 months without a working PC so I've gotta be pissed off. I'm sure you guys would. I've been catching up with a lot of stuff. :(
