Well I went to the net tonight to get Power Toys and was greated with this warm and cheerie message.

(January 31, 2002 update) PowerToys will not be available today as previously stated here. We're sorry, because we know you like them a lot. PowerToys are currently being improved, and will be available for download in April 2002.

Guess I will have to wait.

Macromedia UltraDev would be my favorite piece of software. Its real handy when wanting to create a website. It kind of makes a messy html but it looks real good. I also like Macromedia Fireworks for imaging needs. Its not as crafty as Photoshop but gets the work done pretty easily.

I am big into the utility programs such as Motherboard Monitor, Sisoft Sandra and any popup killer software that actually works.

My favorite software that I paid for is Norton Antivirus. Without it I would probably have gotten the badtrans virus a month ago.

I agree Svtcobra, I would put my Norton AV on the top of the list. It has saved me too.

As I posted earlier I also agree with you guys. Norton Antivirus has kept me clean of viruses since I've had it installed.

Still got the fingers crossed ;)

I would say WinDVD it lets watch movies (dvd, avi, mpeg, etc.) at full screen on my TV without having to strech the video window.

For most useful software Partion magic 7. On the fly partioning and margining is a great convenience.

    While underrated...............

I'd have to go with the calculator. Sure, my calculator cost a thousand bucks, but hey, it has a mouse attached!!! Second place definitely goes to defrag for the neat patterns. I could watch it for hours. Let me come to your house, I could defrag your comp for you. Please?

    Nothing but time.

Personally one of my favorite apps is a little conversion utility called Unit Calc, its a handy little app for converting several types of measurement like; weight, mass, volume, temperature, speed, etc... This app is a lifesaver for me.

A close second would probably be Power VCR, not only is it the only app I've found that completely works correctly with my Tuner card but it also includes Power DVD. It also lets me record edit and convert video, directly from my Tuner or from my Camcorder, it also plays and records from files and disc.

Well, overall I can't live without Photoshop and I suggest getting the newest version you can lay your hands on because each revision is consistantly fantastic.

For music it's MusicMatch Jukebox. It's really the only choice for hardcore music collecting/listening and it burns CDs better than Roxio or Nero.

I've been an Internet Explorer user forever but the newest flavor of Opera is getting more and more use on my system lately. Stay away from Mozilla for a while. Too many bugs to work out.

And in the P2P area, for now it's KaZaa. But try Limewire! It works best with broadband though.
