Hi, I'm sort of new to the forums and need some serious help.
I downloaded some stuff off the internet, which I now know how I caught on to these infections. First, I knew I had some sort of infection when the taskbar popup came up, "Windows autoupdates are disabled." I tried to enable them, but it wouldn't let me. So I went into services and tried to start it and received error '1058' I ran a scan with SpyBot and received many results including the Virtumonde virus. I immediately booted into safe mode, closed explorer.exe and cleaned "all" the viruses SpyBot would show. After more scans and reboots, the problem persists and IE is still giving nasty popups and the PC is still slow. I think I'm still infected with some sort of spyware of malware. I had my regular Virus Scanner try the job first, which is AVG, but problems persist.
AVG Scan: Only found a few adware & tracking cookies, which I removed.
I have followed ALL 8 directions posted PRIOR to making this thread. All logs are attached.
No significant symptoms so far.
