I am a Lenovo/IBM lead technician. I often install Firefox for users that seem to be advanced browswers and hang out in all the wrong places.

The new V.2 of Firefox was designed by open source people to accomodate both XP ( NTFS Platform ) and Apple OSX and Linux ( Mandrake or Red Hat ) Users.

This browser has caused serious conflicts with certain antivirus GUI's
namely " PC-Cillin " and " PandaVirus Platinum " yet, by a source of Linux based writers. (Hmmm)

When you install the newer service packs IE7, and ect ect, you will create conflicts that make your PC run like you have spywarez or .exe Trojans. Mouse lockup. slow everything......... stick with you old stuff for now or revert to what you had.

MS-VISTA is a ripoff media edition of OSX ( and I hate apple pc's )

stick with your current working O/S..... and browsers.

if you have any questions by all means PM me ..... i am happy top share the news that we get 6 week in advance of the public on new releases of GUI's

Another stay away is Nero 7 . has a bunch of really cool tools. Too bad it crashes/freezes every other time.

Also be careful with updating your Ofiice XP Pro with the 2007 Student/Teacher edition cause you think your getting newer .... your gettin a new skin with about 20 new fonts, new skins, a newer 'looking' GUI and HALF the functionality.

I fix on average 10-20 IBM laptops per day and about the same in Desktops with all major brands on the desktops. At Lenovo we specialize in Lappyz

ask me anything and I'll give you the latest hardcore TRUTH.

    *pinky swear*

I get popups in firefox. Don't know how to get rid of them. They read at the top of the page "Advertisement NSIS Media". I have checked my allowed popup pages and it is not on there. It isnt a page, just a random popup ad. Any help? MAybe some AdBlock help?

    Firefox blues.

Despite numerous posting across the web, Mozilla/Firefox (or something) has disabled my ability to select and delete Download History, Saved Forms or Saved Passwords. Everything else seems to get deleted but when I go to "Tools" and "Clear Private Data" it's impossible to highlight these three items for deletion. Oddly, if I go to "Tools" then "Options" then "Settings," it appears that all of the items are checked and ready for deletion. Not the case when I actually go to delete them. This happens whether I check "Ask me before clearing private data" or not.

    Got help?

Firefox is great. so is Thunderbird. go to Firefox Addons through the firefox browser and put in some excellent addons. :) Firefox Is Great.

If you get ads on FF get AdBlock Plus from the addon site, it's free and you can add specific ads etc :) oh and hit ctrl + Shift + del to clear private data: cookies saved forms etc. or set it upo to be removed when you close FF

Why not try use the leader instead of the follower. firefox is great no doubt, but thats coz its nicely emulating Opera. and did I mention opera has an email client (thindervird) built in and its 10x times lighter and faster than firefox

I actually am a fan of both. Except, I have noticed a lot of error console messages with Opera. I do like the security if it though.
