Firefox -- multiple Java console add-ons

  1. Windows XP Pro SP3. I also just mention that I’m still using Firefox v3.6.25, but I don’t think it matters.

The problem is that in my Add-ons there are seven (7) Java Console entries:
    Versions: 6.0.20, 6.0.21, 6.0.22, 6.0.23, 6.0.24, 6.0.25 & 6.0.29

I don’t know how they got there, I just do a general Java update for the PC when it prompts me to.

I wonder how many such Java Console plug-ins other members have.

But my question is, are they all necessary or can I uninstall some without consequences? If so which ones?

Thanks jobeard, I've done what you said and disabled all but the latest which is 6.0.29. But can't I also uninstall them? What's the point of keeping them when they are disabled?

yes, that is possible, but be careful to not uninstall the current version.
if you do, then uninstall ALL java and reinstall from scratch.
