Firewall and antivirus

I got a notice on my Pc that my windows firewall and my PC tools firewall were both on.
so I turned off my windows firewall (Don't know how it got turned on in the first place.)
After that I clicked on security and found that Avast and windows defender were both on.Am I right in thinking that they should not be running at the same time? CB

Only one Firewall should be active

Only one A/V product to scan Email and Weblinks should be active.

It is common to have more than one A/V installed, just be sure than only one is active.

That's what I thought. Next question. How do I turn Windows Defender off? Not uninstall just off. Thanks CB

I'm guessing "don't have" Is short for "dont have a clue how to turn off Bit Defender"
and " can't comment" means You can't answer the question.:haha::grinthumb
