First gen. Apple iPod touch not syncing Apps

    I wanted to try out the app feature on my iPod touch. I went onto the app store and downloaded a few free apps just to test it. I went to sync my iPod and the apps are not being added onto my iPod. I ran a sync test and it says that the sync mode is working fine. I went onto the page in iTunes that has the tabs music, pictures, etc. There is no app tab. Please help! Thanks
