First Light! Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter

    Wow. They just posted the first pic yesterday. It's the "first light" image from the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment camera (HiRISE) on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The photo is of the Mars surface from an altitude of 1,547 miles with a resolution of 98 inches per pixel. This was the test image to make sure the camera's working. Later images will be from 174 mile and with a resolution of 11 inches per pixel! SEDONA HERE WE COME! God I love this stuff. Download the 20048x9500 pixel image and look for foot prints. <g>
