    I go this process every time I build a new system :) Over the years have learned to pick as many components as possible that can be transferred to another platform later on down the road.

    Yeah I think I did that with my current build. If need be I can swap out the Mthbd and CPU for either the shady bridge or for Bulldozer. But of course with my luck when I do finally upgrade to either. There will be newer technology :haha:

    Stick to the AMD build. It's closest to your budget and will be more than adequate for your present requirements. The Sandy Bridge will not make any significant difference when it comes to gaming. Most games are still heavily GPU dependent and the Phenom II X4 is a fantastic performer.
