Reset your HP system with the HP Recovery partition option, then we can begin tracking down other problems.

While it can get more complicated than most people care for, you can use Grub to load Vista too. It's several steps, so If you'd like more details, I can help you. There's also plenty of information out there online as well.

But... You'll probably want your Windows boot loader back since you're probably not planning on keeping Ubuntu on your system.

raybay, how do i reset the pc with the recovery partition?

and will it delete my curent information on the hard disk?

alright i fixed it myself,

downloaded a recovery disc off a torrent site,

fixed the MBR,

deleted ubuntu partition. Done. :)

yeah, my hp came without a vista dvd,

some genius out there got the recovery files from a vista dvd. and made a recovery disc.

so i didnt have to download the whole dvd installation disc.

took about 20 minutes to download. and it was 120 mb file.

put the disc in, bootrec.exe/fixmbr in the cmd promt and done! lol
