Forced To Under-Clock :(

  1. I bought this computer a while ago and have been getting errors and random reboots while playing any games. I couldn't pin point what was going wrong untill i decided to try underclocking this does work but im running @ 160fsb and the standard is 166fsb i dont know why i have to under-clock to get my computer to work correctly. Cooling isnt the problem as i have 5 80mm fans in a thermaltake case. My computer

    Computer Specs Are:

    Amd athlon xp 2800+ @ 160fsb
    MSI-KT4V
    1gig DDR 400 pc3200 (2x512)
    Thermaltake Purepower 420W
    Western Digital 8mb cache 7200rpm 200gig
    Soundblaster Live! Card
    10/100 Network Card

    See if theres an updated BIOS for the board.

    Yeh, i kinda dont wanna risk updating the bios becuase ive heard some bad things about it screwing up boards. I dont have a floppy drive to back my bios up either. But if you can talk me out of it im open for comments :giddy:
