Ford employees want company to stop making police vehicles, CEO refuses

"butt-hurt"?? which one of us is tossing the immature hissy fit?
Apparently you are. And this BLM movement definitely is. I'm heading outside to do work for a black man. Because you know, his life matters just as much as my white one.

My parents made sure I grew up singing songs like this one. -

If you notice the song is not all about black. Making the movement all about black makes them racist by definition. And you have the audacity to call me racist.

Yikes it saddens me that there are that many racist/clueless people here going on how BLM is racist for the dumbest reasons ever.
The founder of blm... -The founder of the united states had slaves so how does the founder have anything to do with anything?
Marxist? seriousley? Stop getting your information from facebook you look utterly stupid saying these things.
Everyone has the same chances now? lmao, riiiight your'e privileged and your parents could afford to pay for you. How would your story have been if your grandparents were impoverished, owned no land and discriminated against? You're ignoring the facts because they are hard to look at.
All blm is looting and riots? That's like saying all Americans are like the "Florida man's" we see on the news. How can you ignore the millions of peaceful protesters? Blind? stupid? both?

It's really not that hard people, saying blm is no different than saying "roses are pretty flowers" that doesn't make all other flowers ugly.
As the meme goes, we wouldn't need blm if there wasn't 300 years of black lives NOT mattering.

That's because you are making it awkward. You aren't opening up a line of dialog, you are dictating. I'm sure that'll solve problems /s.

Everyone else is wrong and only people who agree with you are right. That's the mindset I'm seeing here.

Even when I come in here trying to mediate, I get nothing but cheap shots.
I'm guessing the reason you aren't providing a source, like so many other's here, is because in fact the quote is completely stripped of context.

Here is the video:

As expected, it's fox news. 100% of the time is spent trying to lead the person being interviewed.

He makes a very good point in that video. When white people are exercising their 2nd amendment rights, it's self defense. When black people exercise their rights, they are thrown in jail.

You know what got the government to enact gun control? The Black panthers in the 60s. Funny how that works and the double standard.

Hell, the J edgar hoover actually called them the greatest menace to society while instituting extensive surveillance of them (despite himself being the most corrupt director in FBI history).

Seriously? How is the quote being taken out of context when he clarifies that he could mean literally or figuratively? It's pretty clear that he's advocating for insurrection. I appreciate his candor in admitting that one of the BLM's goals is to overthrow the government - not that I needed the confirmation.

What bout the assassinations of JFK and then MLK and RFK? Those are commonly cited as the primary reason for the Gun Control Act of 1968. Of course, just for giggles, I decided to check several sites like Time and Wikipedia and there was not one reference to the Black Panthers. I had to go to a New York Times "opinion" piece for that to even be cited at all.

It's funny how confirmation bias works, isn't it?

Yikes it saddens me that there are that many racist/clueless people here going on how BLM is racist for the dumbest reasons ever.

So we're getting our information from Facebook instead of Fox News now?

I was reared by my great-grandmother who was on a fixed income at age 65 when she got me until her death at 89, so I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. My college education was paid for via military service, scholarships, and grants. The former two I EARNED based on merit or service.

Speaking of merit, is it fair that anyone should be hired or admitted over more qualified candidates based solely on their ethnicity? "I'm sorry ma'am, we've chosen to go with the minority candidate despite the fact that you have much more experience and a better interview. Their ancestors suffered horrible atrocities hundreds of years ago, so we're doing our part to rectify those wrongs." Since when do two wrongs make a right? Fighting racism with more racism is stupid as hell.

BLM is the epitome of liberal hypocrisy. Blacks account for 13.4% of the U.S. population but accounted for 36% of the abortions in 2014 (see CDC or Guttmacher Institute). Abortion is the NUMBER ONE KILLER of black lives in the U.S. On the murder front, and according to the FBI for 2018, there were 3,114 black murder offenders and 2,911 white murder offenders. Again, 13.3 percent of the population but OVER 50% of the murders? Yet BLM chooses to cherry pick a handful of less than 20 (I believe that 13 is the latest WAPO number) unarmed blacks that were killed by police. They play the racist and victim cards to the hilt but I have yet to hear one of their leaders step up with solid ideas on what the black community can do to fix its own problems within that amongst the biggest is households without a father figure. Oh no, according to the BLM mission statement, they seek to "...dismantle the patriarchal practice..." and "...disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement...". BTW, Sleepy Joe Biden's 1994 crime bill started the era of mass incarceration for minorities - "Lock the S.O.B.s up", he said. Stop blaming white people for your problems and demonstrate that you care more about yourselves FIRST AND FOREMOST and then many more will become sympathetic to your cause.

Your time has certainly run out

I could just fall down and flail around like a squealing Antifa pig: "MODS! ADMINS! TRAINED SOCIAL WORKER! HELP! HE'S THREATENING HIM WITH USAGE OF DEADLY WEAPONS AND TELLING HIM THAT HIS TIME HAS RUN OUT! HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATOR ALERT!

Knock yourself out, you have my permission fox entertainment viewer.

You got me! I actually watched 30 minutes of Fox News a couple of weeks ago and I've probably watched a combined total of 3 hours of Fox News over the last 10 years and browsed the website for about 30 minutes total over that same time span. Guilty as charged!

 When Floyd said 20 times he could not breath, the cops simply said, in essence, "STFU or you will kill yourself faster." This gleaned from the cop's body camera footage. So, are you telling us that you see nothing wrong with that and the cops should not be held accountable?

Unlike what you seem to have said, accountability is not a one-sided issue.
Accountable for what exactly? Do you realize officers and paramedics have been injured or have died do to criminals using any excuse to have opportunity to take action, tell you what become a police officer then talk, get shot taking every person for their word.

People like Quantum and various others in this conversation forget the 3 fingers pointing back at themselves as they point out and "own" those with differing opinions.

In order to talk about black suppression, you must have grown up a poor black or else you don't have a say in the matter. But when it comes to supposed police "oppression" you are the subject matter expert while living in your ivory tower looking down your nose at them having never walked a beat, let alone a dark alley, ever in their lives.

Black Lives Don't matter until their own community stops killing themselves en masse and takes responsibility for a 72% fatherless household. Whites can't fix that and never will.

Watching this from across the pond, America is screwed. People seem to genuinely hate the other side. People speak of the other side as vermin, and we know from past experience that there isn't much people aren't prepared to do to get rid of vermin. It's like watching the collapse of Rome in real time.

Lets put this easier, lets people decide if they want cops or not, the ones than say not aren't protected by those guys. This is so silly, these guys has things very hard on their kind of work dealing with the worst of humanity constantly and what they should do now, run on foot to fight evil and defend ungrateful defenseless people?

That is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. We all like what we like but absolutely no one builds Hi Duty\PI vehicles like Ford. People stopped using terms like bulletproof years ago because it doesn't accurately describe those things. The Crown Vics (Panther Platform) will always be legendary. 300K miles was the norm and those were not easy\well maintained miles. Police Departments even signed petitions to keep the platform alive.

So put those folks that want the Hi Duty vehicles stopped on the line that makes them and then see what they say.

Interesting idea, but psychologically this is like most of the people that want Anarchy and preach it. The problem is they can't survive Anarchy because they never bothered even remotely to being prepared and ultimately they fail to realize they think they are stronger than they actually are.

The problem with America is we are overtaken by extremists that are ethically and morally bankrupt, they are inflexible and believe they are right, everyone else is wrong, despite the reality and statistics or data suggesting they are wrong, and simply don't and won't realize a little thing called compromise and common sense. Have a problem well it needs a complex solution even if it doesn't require one for a fix.
Screwed doesn't even begin to cover our downfall our national IQ is pathetically low and the government hasn't taken education seriously since Woodrow Wilson.

Yeah, they feel so secure than think why the rules. But they forget than their security rest on a good (and strong) police and forget than their rights are someone else obligations, and vice versa. I live in mexico and my mind blows when I see the pictures of "defund the police", they are basically saying "hey criminals, here is my a%#"

This thread has made me sad, but I want to make sure that for the people outside of the US there is more than one voice being heard here. It can be hard to look outside of yourself and see that others might not be experiencing things the same way you are. I am a black man who admittedly lives in a bubble of good fortune. My parents were able to make a way for me by giving me exposure to things most of my friends were never able to see. I see how far I've gotten due to these differences but it doesn't mean I don't behave appropriately (different from a white male) when I am out because if I did behave the same way it could be detrimental for my or my family's well being. Almost all of my friends who were not afforded the same exposure as I was are somewhat struggling (financially and career wise). All we ask is some of you acknowledge these differences and make the changes needed to correct this. This is not a change black and other people need to make - it is a change only white people can make in America. If you (as a white person) can honestly see all of the things that have gone on here in the US for many, many years and believe that things are equal and black people have not been treated differently and as lesser then maybe you're not enlightened enough to hear this yet. I hope one day you can see outside of yourself. It doesn't mean I'll behave any differently here on the forums when I talk to you if you cannot - it just makes me sad.

Yeah lets have the mindset that all white people are millionaires. I look out across the land and see people of all colors struggling. The only inequality is the pay grade divide that effects us all. Stop pointing your finger at white people. We don't have a monopoly on prospective potentials.

So you're honestly trying to say that the overwhelming lack of household father figures, disproportionate abortion and murder rates, or that this type of behavior here...

...is the fault of white people and that only they can rectify the situation?!

If the plurality of the black community continues to accept ZERO responsibility for their problems and keep this victim mentality - which I feel is exactly what the Democratic party wants - then this country may very well be doomed as a previous poster said.

No. I'm saying you're missing the point and deflecting. That is a totally separate issue and not at all what is the point being made here. I'm am for the police - but I am for an accountable police. We are doomed if you think what has been going on all of this time is hunky dory.

Well at least you didn't accuse me of "whataboutism", so that's positive.

So you're talking specifically about police reform? I'm 100% for the provisions (particularly those of the body camera and no-knock warrants) that were set forth in the Republican bill. Did that bill go far enough? No - it didn't address qualified immunity - but it was a big step in the right direction. The Democrats - the so-called party of progressivism - once again decided that politics (and votes) were more important that any lives that might be saved. The lone black GOP Senator, Tim Scott, is leading the charge to get it back on the table but I don't really see it happening until after the election is over.
