Forgotten command?

  1. is what you type in run a command?

    this may be an odd question but I recall years ago there was a thing you could type in run- and I'm talking about xp home- this combination of letters command or whatever makes it tell you to put the xp disc in and it checks if all the components of xp are where they should be and there

    anybody have a clue what I'm talking about?- or know what the magic thing/ command is?

    System File Checker

    Start > Run > sfc /ScanNow
    (note: 1 space after "sfc" in that command)

    I'm not sure there's anything wrong with it, but I was sure I had seen such a command but no-one I had heard of it; thanks to you I now know I'm not going mad :)
