Formatting a hard disk after a power surge

Hi There,

Am currently facing a problem of which i would request to be helped//

i have been trying to reinstall an OS -on a computer that ceased to work due to a power surge,,, but i get a certain error message indicating that the system cannot boot from the CD, CODE : 4

i have tried to format the hard disk on another machine and it went all well, but on returning the hard disk on its machine ---it gives me this error message

"NTLDR IS MISSING"

The error you have received "NTLDR is missing" shows that the system is trying to boot from the hard drive and cannot find the boot sector, this obviously won't be there as you have wiped the disc. To boot from the CD you need to go into the Bios and set the CD drive to 1st in the boot order.

Check that the CD is undamaged and that it will boot in another PC.
