Fundamental help needed in setting up wireless network

  1. Hello there,
I know absolutely bugger all about computers. I recently bought a Dell Dimension 3000. For some unknown reason I was under the impression that it is automatically set up to receive a wireless signal. Is this likely? Whilst under this assumption I bought a D-Link DI-624 Air Plus Xtreme G 2.4GHz Wireless Router. I plugged this into the modem and not a great deal more happens. Am I needing something else to plug into the computer? Is this D-Link thing of any use whatsoever for my purposes? I really have tried reading the manual but it seems mostly written in gibberish. Please phrase any responses as you would to somebody with learning difficulties.

If you really can't make anything of the "Quick Start" part of the manual then you should just ask someone with more experience to set up things for you.
