Why do you spend so much time looking at the inside of a dog's mouth? :D
  2. XtR-X Newcomer, in training

No, lol. I have a dog, she fetches, etc. I've seen inside her mouth, she's got no flat molars. She's got sharp molars for ripping apart meat, probably nature's help to carnivores.

If evolution is in fact true, then we can see humans developing sharper teeth over time.

I think its the opposite, humans have those sharp pointy teeth on either side of our 2 front teeth. I think maybe you'd see a gradual flattening over evolution rather than a sharpening. Actually if we are talking evolution our teeth shouldn't be really changing much anymore, that was all taken care of during the ape phase.

While were on the subject, my dad told me that humans developed Wisdom teeth to better chew meat.
But why are they such a pain now? What was it like for early humans?

It doesn't make sense. That's why I don't like the idea of evolution.

I dissagree with your dad. Dog teeth are made for that, for the simple reason of ripping apart meat, not chewing it. See, we really have to chew our meat, or we choke, that's why IMO we were destined to be herbivores. You can say that they benefit us but think about, we have forks and knives, do dogs use forks and knives? No, but that'd be hella funny.

Nah we don't have to chew anything more than dogs do, they just swallow, haven't you seen a dog take too much of something and choke it back up? Also my dog and my grandparents dogs - you toss them a chunk of raw meat and the first bite is to position it on their tongue, second is swallow, their sharp teeth are to rip it off the bone. So comparing us needing to chew to them not isn't valid, and dogs are by nature carnivores, humans IMO are by nature (meaning we always have been) omnivores.

Very true. I have fussed at my dog for not chewing and then choking. He is bad about gulping something down and not even biting it.

I think you need to look at the information objectively. When do you think we will all reach our destiny and become herbivores? Just curious... Put me in the "we were omnivores from day one" category. FYI: In your culture you use forks and knives. Many cultures do not use utensiles.

Wow, who would have thought my little funny news thread would have turned into a debate about evolution. I like it, keep your thoughts coming.

Nature's way is not creating and using nuclear power, thats just advancement of technology. Nature's way is not mass production of cows to probably destroy the earth due to greenhouse gases because we crave meat, cheese, milk, etc..

I don't care if it's natures way or not, I like all the luxuries, hell, I don't have to worry, I won't be alive when destruction comes.

When I say we were probably herbivores, it's because of the apendix. We wouldn't have it if we were omnivorous, IMHO. And if you all read a little further back, you can read my explanations of the appendix and how it functions.

"When do you think we will all reach our destiny and become herbivores?"
Destined from the start, at least, if you throw evolution out. I don't see a reason for having an appendix if we were already meat-digesting ready.

On all of these are theories and thoughts, not every single one is correct, but each one is just as valid as another one.
