Geforce 6800 and monitor?

  1. I'm having a lot of trouble with my video card (brand new Geforce 6800). I don't know much about computers, but I did notice lately that my frames per second has dropped. For example, I was playing Counter-Strike 1.6 and getting 100fps (completely normal), but now it's running on 70fps. It's like this with all video games I play and the longer I play the worse performance I get. I've no idea if it has something to do with my monitor (lcd monitor).

I was also wondering if someone could give me a few tips on how to get full potential out of my video card.

    Thanks..

Maybe Vsync has been enabled, try forcing it to off. I don't see the need to have more FPS then your monitor can display but some people insist on that. :p

Also check to see if you haven't got FSAA & AF enabled in the card's settings.

When you installed the new card, did you uninstall the old video driver and install the latest graphics card driver?

Heat could also be another problem. :)
