Ok, I tried googling instead of coming in here, but it screwed me up. Of the many links I saw, I used this one http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/how-to-remove-welcome-login-screen-on-xp-268319.html
As a result, I lost ALL my pictures, documents & Firefox. Was left with the SeaMonkey as it is when you first install it.
I was going to start all over with it, but didn't. I don't like using System Restore for ANY reason but I did so & I'm back to the way it was.
So, my question is, how do I get rid of the XP log in screen? I don't have a username/password, just want to (re)boot up & start. TIA :)

Usually, it is not there anyway on a private PC. If you install XP pro without entering more than one user or any password, you never get prompted for one.
If the pesky thing has appeared because you installed MS Net see here
