Getting sub-par fps with my new GTX 670 oc

I just don't get how the usage of both my cpu and ram never get near 100% but I'm still getting a bottleneck-type issue. Does that make any sense?
Try the BIOS update I posted above, then update us. Close all running applications before flashing the BIOS.

are u running the cpu monitor and ram monitor on the program if ur actually taking the monitor while u put the game on the background it obv wont work

The BIOS should help with RAM readings, GPU compatibility and just overall improvements in stability.

Jc that should be helpfull but he already stated that on need for speed he was hovering over 60-80% cpu usage it will give a better performance but how much can it push it :S an upgrade is the only solution if he intends to play the next gen games

Yeah definitely, but if he doesnt have any spare cash, overclocking and updating the BIOS could help.

Yup, that is why it is best to find good deals when buying PCs and to futureproof as much as possible for your price range.

I hope my gtx 660 holds long enough for 2-3 years I still play on 768p and I dont mind lowering the graphics since ive been playing on lowest for like 4 years before I bought this pc and now my plan isnt anything but buying a full water cooled modded pc

The 660 will be fine till DX12 comes out, especially at 768P. Watercooled PCs are a waste, upping the clock speeds from 4.8 to 5.2GHz wont do much lol.

well it might be like that it was always my dream to have a watercooled pc ;S

by when is dx 12 comming out and I doubt the games will all start using dx12 instantly

so we can expect 5 years before we see any real games with dx12 probably or atleast 4
Probably. It will be like Battlefield 3, it was one of the first games with a true integration of DX11 (Crysis 2 also), but only 30% of it was used. 2 years later, the release of Battlefield 4, which will use 80% of the engine. So basically 4-6 years till we see full integration.

u think my system can hold battlefield 4 Multiplayer? 768p

fimbles, it would make more sense for him to check out a more recent benchmark like the 650Ti boost one: https://www.techspot.com/review/661-nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-sli/page2.html

This article only points out gpu scores and not cpu scaling.

I did a few benchmarks of my own so they are more recent.

Phenom 965 BE and gtx 460 sc in sli:

Tomb raider 2013

CPU @ 2.8 ghz : 52 fps avg
CPU @ 3.8 ghz : 52.8 fps avg

Hitman absolution

CPU @ 2.8 ghz : 34 fps avg
CPU @ 3.8 ghz : 38 fps avg

Bioshock infinite

CPU @ 2.8 ghz : 32.51
CPU @ 3.8 ghz : 32.81

I would not be so quick to point to cpu bottleneck. I upgraded from a 9850 @ 2.5 ghz to my current cpu and found only a frame or two in performance difference and not the 50% loss the OP has.

I'm running the game in windowed mode and actually playing/checking my cpu/ram/gpu usage..

Windowed reduces performance I think. Do you have an cash you are willing to spend on a new CPU, motherboard and some RAM if we have to mojo?
