Gigabyte recently debuted their latest motherboard series based on the Thin Mini-ITX form factor. The two new boards, the Gigabyte N77TN and the B75TN, adhere to Intel’s AIO PC specification and allow system builders to create a slim and compact computer.

The Taiwan-based motherboard and graphics card manufacturer says the boards feature a low profile design that is 43 percent thinner than traditional Mini-ITX designs while still providing a full-featured PC experience with specifications and performance you’d expect from a regular desktop.

The Gigabyte H77TN and the B75TN are based on Intel H77 and B75 chipsets, respectively, and support second and third generation Intel Core processors. Both offer a x4 PCI Express expansion slot as well as mSATA and Mini PCIe slots. The boards measure 17cm x 17cm and are only 2.5cm tall which makes them perfect for slim-line industrial and commercial applications like POS systems, casino gaming PCs and digital signage units.

Of course, that’s just one segment as Thin-Mini ITX is becoming increasingly popular among personal system builders as secondary PCs, HTPC units or even full-size desktop replacements. A number of new compatible cases have already hit the market with dozens more expected over the course of 2013.

Both boards are now available for purchase on Newegg. The B75TN retails for $109.99 while the H77TN will set you back $124.99. Aside from the chipset, the pricier board features an extra SATA 6Gb/sec port in place of a SATA 3Gb/sec port and the USB ports are slightly different.
