GLQuake is not running on this nVidia GeForce FX 5200

I'm stuck right now using an old hand me down nVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card in my temporary computer. I got GLQuake to run on and old Voodoo3 card and on a newer ATI graphics card that I can no longer use, so I try to run GLQuake on this nVidia card with the -no8bit command sometimes, and cannot seem to get into the game all the way, it comes in then stops after sound initializing, but doesn't stop responding. Anybody know anything about that?
