Gmail to surpass Hotmail in seven months

  1. Gmail launched as an invitation-only beta in 2004 and has grown a steady following since its release to the general public in 2007. Now, Google's web-based mail service has taken AOL's spot at number three for the most popular online email service and is showing no signs of slowing down. It is poised to overtake Hotmail - which has been around for over a decade.

    I have also been using Gmail since 04 and have yet to turn back. :)
  4. I have been using Yahoo mail since before Google was a gleam in the internet eye and I'm still quite happy with it.
  5. Google is much too large, very pompous and just plain evil. Sounds like Apple.
  6. I still like my hotmail account....
