Gmail will not load with windows 7 on my Toshiba A505-S6980

Each time I try to log into my Gmail account my computer goes into hyper drive trying to re-load the web page. It's like it gets stuck in a loop, trying to reload every 1/2 second. I've been on the phone multiple times with Toshiba tech support and get a different answer each time. First they told me it was that I needed to delete my cookies... Well that's all fine and good, except each time I reboot my computer it does the same thing over again. Today they told me the problem causing my gmail web page not to load is due to microsoft needing to update windows IE 8 to be compatible and work with gmail. However, my desktop computer that I just purchased a week before the Toshiba works just fine with gmail and it uses windows 7. So can anyone tell me what I can do to resolve this? Thank you! T
