Google: 40% of Google Maps usage is mobile

  1. At a South by Southwest Interactive event, Google VP Marissa Mayer talked about mobile location. Mayer's role at Google recently shifted from leading the company's search team to heading its local features. Here are the five main points she went over, according to BGR:

    Could have used this functionality a couple of weeks ago :(, too bad the GPS is flaky on my SGS, but at least its reliable on my Tab

    I use it all the time in the UK on my mobile. Both the old Windows Mobile 6.1 and the new Android handset.

    The google maps App for some reason has you pinpoiinted, then lal of a sudden has you listed somewhere else, sometimes you will be on the M4 near London then suddenly its recalculating becuase it thinks your in Iran.
