Google to spend $100 million on original content for YouTube

    Google is reportedly looking to spend as much as $100 million to fund professionally produced video content exclusively for YouTube. The move would come as part of a major overhaul this year designed to get more people to watch YouTube just as they watch TV, with the introduction of around 20 dedicated 'channels' for topics like arts and sports.

    and as soon as they add any of these new features, 1 million youtube nerds will cry in digust about how much they hate the new layout. regardless of how good it is...

    I'm surprised that stuff like internet TV series' haven't hit it off.

    Then again i suppose if anything really good were to appear someone like Rupert 'money bags' Murdoch wouldn't be far away ready to pounce on it.
