requesting a list of nearby wireless networks from the Google device on your Wi-Fi network, the information is sent to geolocation look-up services to pinpoint your location.
Craig Young, a researcher with security firm TripWire advice: Whenever possible, keep your connected home products on a separate network from other smartphones or computers—the devices you use to browse the internet and download data.
