GPedit.msc doesn't have the network folder in XP Pro

i am trying to set Qos packet scheduler for bandwidth properties but when i open the folder administrative templates the network folder is not there.does anyone know why this is xp pro.

i have 2 pc's and they both are missing this folder,the only thing that has networking is a file for media player.i don't understand what is wrong?

Hey Hey! I think I found a solution.

When I checked my own Group Policy I didn't have an Admin Template for Network either! :confused: (and I'm also run XP Pro SP3)

I don't know why it's missing by default in our cases but after some time googling I stumbled across a way to fix it when the Network folder is not there.

> Run gpedit.msc again
> Right click Admin Templates->Add/Remove Templates. Click Add button
> Navigate to C:\Windows\inf, select the system.adm file. Click Open button
> And "voila"! Admin Template folders for System, Network and Printers should appear

/* edit */
p.s I found the solution buried in HERE. Which is also curious as every other post I saw about setting Network or QOS policies (even those on Microsoft Technet) all seemed to assume the Network and QOS folders are there without any extra setup. Oh the mysteries of that thing we call Windows :)

Thanks for the report. I had the same problem and rectified it now.
