GPU core temps and overclocking

So i was tweaking my
Nvidia Geforce 6800 xt the other day using riva tuner and

well i deceded that maybe i was pushing it wen the core temp was 82* celcious. durring a bit of gamming

im just wondering if anyone has any input about whats a safe temp for the core to be @ . The card is getting a little slow for the stuff that im doing and i just want a bit more performance.
It idles @ 54 degrees

That is totally safe temp my friend. They can withstand up to 100c and work just fine, although the life might be shortened just a tad bit.

82c on load is great. Nothing to worry about, your idle is perfectly normal this is what everyone gets....

that is good news,

there is one thing i think i do need to change though i accidently installed my soundcard (E-mu) int he pci slot directly below it , and there is only an in of clearance XD .

Thnx tweak im going to reclock it then .
