Graphic card not compatible with my Dell

Hi guys,

I just got a PCI-E x1 graphic card:

HIS Hightech H155HMF256EDDE1LN-R Radeon X1550 512MB(256MB on board) 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x1 Low Profile Video Card - Retail

For my Dell Dimension 3100 Desktop. IT has one PCI-E x1 slot.

However, after i set up and install all the required software and driver. My monitor shows a black screen.

Does it mean that my desktop is not compatible to my newly bought graphic card?

Stupid question, but did you switch the monitor cable from the onboard graphics to the card?

This is my first time i buy a graphic card and do not know much about PC. I dun even know how to do the switch. I will check that out. Thanks
