That's only partially true, it's not that simple, but I agree in general about that.
Yet it's besides the original subject: opportunity for buying at MSRP for everyone in the world.
I paid 650 euro for my top if the line XFX Merc RX 6700 XT (which has the MSRP of 570 euros, declared by XFX), last month.
There was no option for me to buy the reference model at 480 euros (let's forget about $ to euro difference), but also I was not able to buy the XFX Merc at it's declared MSRP of 570 euro either, so considering that was the best price I could find for a premium tier GPU (it's one of the best 6700 XTs) I paid 80 euros more, as scalping tax.
But it was worth it in these circumstances, it was a "low" scalping tax, compared to other prices.
If I had the option to buy a reference one at 480 euros, I would have done it, even if the reference GPU is a little inferior to my version, the XFX is not 170 euro worth of a better GPU. That's the price of 6800XT, actually.
So it's not about being poor, it's about equal opportunities, which are not the same all over the world.
Not everyone can buy at MSRP (actually most can't) and those that can (like you) should not act like you do and blame everyone else. Your view about this aspect is very wrong.
