Great games that don't need great hardware to run

lol @ Fable; even my 8800GTS has problems with it (@ 8x FSAA, 1680x1050)

I doubt that Fable plays well on anything less than a 6600; I know it kinda sucked on my ol' Asus EN6600 @ 1024x768

as for my contribution I would say Gun Metal is a very fun game

Look here. FYI, my dad's PC has a 1.7GHz Williamette CPU, 1GB of DDR RAM and a 256MB DDR 6600, which plays Fable perfectly at 1024x768 with 2x AA and everything else maxed out. You probably have some other issues.

Nice list, still can use a couple of key games, roller coaster tycoon 1 + expansions, roller coaster tycoon 2 + expansions, not roller coaster tycoon 3 due to the fact that they ruined it and it won't run on the specs, need for speed 2 and the hot pursuit lot, frogger, trackmania sunrise ans united. Thats all for now, great list.

Hrm.. How about listing the games one per line. I do realise that that the current arrangement may be "cool" and "warezlike", but it's a real pain to go through this giant blob of gibberish when you are not looking for anything specific that the find function could show.

Julio, I have seen other reports of the site not formatting correctly. I believe it was kimsland that was having to go back and edit all new posts because of them not formatting correctly. He also stated that he couldn't get it fixed on post #78.

when you add more games, just use the [*] symbol before each game and stick it in there, it will automatically place it where you put it and update the numbers accordingly.
(btw remove the [ quote ] before that list in the TXT, and yeah thats it... you don't have to reorganize it everytime you edit.)

its something to do with the forum configuration, or more likely the forum software itself (vB).

I tried editing it after it got messed up to add the new games, it wasn't that bad, just find the place you want to add it, hit Enter before the [*] of the next game, add [*], add the game after that, and thats it.

btw the oblivion one had the "here" slipped to the next dot.

ooh! I thought of another great game I played, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, I really liked the story and the hack&slash gameplay.

I played legacy of kain, 1024X768 dont remember the settings, on the computer i said earlier, the p4 1.5ghz, 512mb ram, geforce 3mx... and it ran quite smoothly.. so its probably your celeron which is slowing the computer.. they quite suck for gaming...

'cause I know the 5200 to be a fighter (maybe you have the 64mb version?).
my friend has it, he has a P4 2.0GHZ, 5200fx 128mb, 512mb ram, he's playing right now.. uhh... Phantasy Star Universe + expansion, its running ok, settings at mid.

if everything is low.. then the celeron really brings down the computer on gaming.

No, EVERYTHING at lowest, And your right, its a fighter. It is actually the 256mb version.

It will run UT (the original ) at > 70fps, CS:S at 15-25 fps on low, 30 with caseys config.,and CNC Generals at 25-30 fps capped with most everything on.

I highly suggest that Simon the Sorceror should be added to the list. Its just like monkey island, with an awesome sense of humour (just like monkey island). I havent had the joy of playing the sequal. Also I think recently they did a 3d version of Simon, I must acquire myself that one day.
