I've been researching 2 games, Guild Wars, and World of Warcraft. Which one should I get? Anyone that plays any of the 2 games tell me what you think and why should I get it.

I have been hearing a lot a good things revies about guild wars and moreover from what i saw they just charge one time for the game and no recuring monthly charges so i think u can go for that.

If u like First person - RPG then this is the one for u. :grinthumb

damn they dont have a server in india if they had i will go for that. :dead:

Yeah thats a good thing about Guild Wars, no monthly charges like WOW. But WOW offers new levels and stuff every month or so, which would make it more playable overtime, but then again the 15 dollar a month fee.

Do Guild Wars come out with new levels and stuff from time to time?

I've been playing Lineage2 for a while and it's great fun. I consider Guild Wars a bit more cartoon looking. But Guild Wars you may be able to get more action quicker they say. Unlike Lineage2 where it takes a bloody long time to level up. The game hardly gets fun until you're over level 30. Well, not really :)

BUT, Lineage2 is a pay-for server as well, unless you go with the free server-software at www.lineage2world.com. Free game, free servers, though the servers crash a lot. But hey, you don't even have to pay for the game! And this is not illegal either. Hundreds of thousands of people are on the free servers. So this game may give you a taste for a Guildwars-like atmosphere.

I have guild wars, and both of the KOTORs. I do not see any simalairties other then they are both good games, and feature a simialar attacking engine. I am not a Warcraft guy, so the choice was easy for me between them. I like the freeness and the fable-style plot.

The thing is i am india as it says in the top right corner and i really want to play this game and the problem is there is no local server so was just wondering if it work for me i have a 256 Kbps connection.

I am a big fan of the entire KOTOR series so if it is even close to those two i was hoping i can buy those.

Yeah they do, but it's always (so far) been server side patches, so you often times don't realize it unless you check out their website.

I play/have played both WoW and GW and I do enjoy them both. Two of the things and main differences I realized were time and money. If you want a game that's good for the money you pay and eats up nearly all of your free time, go for WoW. If you want a game that you don't have to feel like your losing money if you don't play it for a day, and won't eat up all of your time, go for GW. Guild Wars is a lot easier to get into the thick of things faster, and is IMO, more suitable for a casual gamer. WoW, especially if you're one that likes to compete, will eat up a good deal of your $$ as well as your time, therefore, IMO again, better suited for a power gamer type.

I bought WoW first, right when it came out and played it until the beginning of May. I cancelled my account for a month, and just recently reactivated it. I played GW almost straight for that entire month off from WoW, and it was defintely a different gaming experience altogether. Fun in it's own right for sure, but completely different.

My suggestion, if you can afford it. Try both. See what you like better.

its simple, if you can afford it play warcraft. if you cant or get board of world of warcraft then get guild wars. both are excelent games

I've played WoW, among other MMO's. It is full of aholes. I quit playing for that reason alone. One day I just suddenly got sick of it and didn't feel like playing anymore.

Acid - I think you're gonna find that on any online gaming community. I already told you from the day you started playing that you should join my guild - it's 430+ people of 25-60 year olds (so it's not a bunch of kids) with mature (take that with a grain of salt) attitudes and conversation.

    I hear you

I totally agree with you acid. There is nothing more agrivating then shelling out 45-50 dollars just to deal with a bunch immautre people. I am really getting tired of it as well. I must say, guild wars, by far is one of the best MMO communites i have played with. Not perfect, not by far, but much better the WoW.

I say that World of Warcraft is the better game. It has fun exploring, the world itself is so big you don't realize it until you see screenshots of all this like lvl 60 elite places. Guild Wars is a more serious game (just like Linage&2,Everquest.) It goes really into depth with designing your character which is always nice because you don't want 30 people running looking alike. It's harder to level up on Guild Wars than World of Warcraft. The cool thing is you can have two classes. Other than the free online playing its not that great. World of warcraft is really a better game. And now there is a Honor System where if you a certain number or horde members a week you get a rank and each rank gets a rare item.

I notice you left out the work kill Kojiro :) That's cause you Alliance scum can't kill us Horde!

That is why you guys have a huge sewer tunnel that leads to the Undeads place. Lol yeah i forgot to add kill, you spelled word wrong, because you Horde use cheap materials to learn and fight with. Good times

For da Horde! Ya, me learn slow sumtimes.

Really does suck that I made that typo though :)

I dont have either game at the moment, but on friday i will be buying WoW, and i seriously dont know how you can judge a gaming community as big as WoWs i recently read that after the release in China they have over 2 million subscribers, how can you possibly say that out of 2 million every one is an *******?

Its only that one or two percent of the gamers that are the @%*$@# that screw things up for everyone else.

the problem probably is kids and the immature who screw the the experience for all. the solution too this problem is to create an environment of mature incorruptible maturity where childishness is unwelcome. we should all join in the online community's of the following games, "World of pottery", "polo wars" and "gardening n knitting socialites online". all these game will instill proper values into you and your friends and teach you too be polite and pick up after yourselves, with the exception of polo wars, that one gives you porn pop ups.
