Actually I saw the new trailer/game footage that was posted today - looks pretty good alright, I could only think of Half-Life though when he spots the guy on the ceiling with the flashlight.

I wonder if Doom 3 will support cooperative play like Doom 1 and 2? That was one of the coolest features of the game and the ONLY game to have fun cooperative play. Not many games have ever supported that. Half Life 1 has a mod for it but you dont get to play the regular levels, but instead just custom levels. In Doom 1 & 2, cooperative play was played on the same levels as single player games.

Doom 3 is supposed to be single player only.

    Latest on Doom 3 ...

    Doom 3 has no multi-player

Apparently, it has already taken around 60 man-years to develop, even without the multi-player.

That link is B.S. I've read other websites where John said it IS supporting multiplayer capabilities. And even if I hadn't read that I would still know that Doom 3 not having multiplayer capabilitys would be total B.S.

Please dont believe everything you read! :D

    Doom 3 Multiplayer ...

"Well it seems that there's been quite a bit of confusion about DOOM3 and specifically the multiplayer. As John Carmack mentioned in his speech they were looking at a 4 player limited peer to peer system for DOOM3 currently. That is just what is currently working on DOOM3, however it has been clearly stated in the past, and again to me while at QuakeCon by a couple of employees that there are vague plans for a multiplayer follow-up patch or product for DOOM3 that have not been fully decided on. So dont panic! all this means for multiplayer is that the singleplayer version of DOOM3 may be including a limited multiplayer portion although probably not. Just keep your pants on and wait for the multiplayer patch/expansion." - Shacknews

Together with that previous news I posted, it looks like multiplayer will be added later, and will not be in the initial release.

    Those clips are totally awesome!!!

Makes other games look totally lame.

More detail than a 2002 Tax Return.

    Lovely Alyx ...

Ok, that's it for now. Review over. :D

I almost wizzed in my pants watching all these vids of HL2. Downright amazing lighting, effects, AI, graphics, sound.. its ALL mind-boggling. I know I will spend hours at a time in on room just playing with the different features of the game.

This is the game ive been waiting 4 and ive downloaded the tralier for the game and it looks awesome. See it for yourself! I really hope that someone releases a counterstrike mod with bot AI that would rock my world!

Actually the new CS patch v1.6 that will be coming out soon will include bot support. You won't need to wait for HL2 to get decent bot support for CS!!

Doom 3 is not single player. Trust me.

I believe Carmack has already made it more than clear that there WILL be multiplayer in Doom3, though I strongly believe that the multiplayer will be sort of a "patch" as some describe it, or maybe almost kind of like how Return to Castle Wolfenstein's single/multiplayer seperate exectuables work. You may not be able to load up a game of Doom3 and click "single player" or "multiplayer" as it has been in the past but I am 100% certain that Doom3 will feature multiplayer code in some fashion.

Besides, look at the facts -- Carmack would be a complete ***** (which he is not) to not feature multiplayer in a followup to one of the greatest games ever created, and it would very much hurt the sales.

Did you read what Nic posted earlier in this thread?
There is (currently) a max 4 person multiplayer limit...

And what is more, you can't join a game in progress... You'll have to be present when the game start...

The 4 player max shouldn't be too much of a problem, as mod'ers should be able to create bigger maps... But there seems to be little chance for D3 to let you join a game in progress... :(

For more information about D3 and multiplayer, take a look at this little Q&A from GameSpy, and this and this article over @ ShackNews...

Or use this search on google for more information....
