So for some reason after i restart my pc my hard drives wont be detected this happens with both master or slave, but after a few restarts it will and i can use windows and my slave drive, what can be causing this?cause it is very annoying i have to restart once or twice before the hds get detected

i tried to updated bios

change connections for the sata

reset the bios back to default

any other ideas?

specs are

Intel Q9450 @ 3.5 Ghz|8 GIGS ddr 2 800 mhz|ATI 4870 X2 in cross fire|Vista Ultimate x64|
Asus rampage Formula|2 3.0 MB Drives 500 gigs|XFI Xtreme music|Water Cooled|Antec 1200 case|Ultra x3 1000 watts|

maybe windows need to be formatted?but i doubt it.

Are the drives visible in BIOS? If so, reinstalling the drivers for the SATA controller should fix the problem. I just went through a similar scenario where Windows did not detect one of my SATA drives, at all. Once I reinstalled the SATA drivers the drive was usable in Windows again.

Or is it?i just switched power supplies right, from my 1000 watt ultra x3 to my 800 watt ultra x3 and everythin seems to be working fine now, safe to assume it is the new psu at fault?
