Have an older PC question about processor

I have an older Inspiron 531 and I wasn't planning on replacing it anytime soon as it plays all the games and does everything else I need. I was wondering if there is a way to boost its speed and power a little more though. Right now I can play most mmo's on med settings, but I wanted to get a little more out of it. Currently I have a Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103546) processor in the PC. I have an AMD Phenom X4 9150e (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HD9150ODJ4BGH-R) sitting around right now, my question is, can I replace the 4400+ with the 9150e and is the Phenom faster?

Unfortunately, you cannot use the 9150E for your machine. It uses a completely different socket then the 4400+. You will need a board that supports AM2 sockets to use the 9150E.

Yes the phenom is faster but it is not compatible with your current motherboard. socket 939 is quite old there have been 5 different sockets since 939.
