Having new monitor issues, can I get a diagnosis?

I've had the same Sony LCD monitor for the past 5 years or so with no issues to speak of, but earlier today it started just shutting off by itself. It is like I'm pressing the power button, but the green light is still on indicating power. I can temporarily fix the issue for maybe a minute by turning it off and back on, but that gets old pretty fast. I was wondering if this is a sign that my monitor is dieing on me or if there is some graphics card issue that I should deal with? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you try the monitor on another PC?

Does the screen just stay black, or does it have some text on it? It would be best to test it on another PC/notebook.
