Having problems Renewing my IP Address?

I've been very annoyed by this as I've used about three different Routers. I'm under the impression that my Onboard Ethernet is going out. If it is, what type of Ethernet card should I get? (I have a few PCI-E 1x Slots that aren't being used.) =)

any type of card will do, if your original is an onboard one you will need to disable it in the BIOS
